Chilis on Wheels...
We have made it our mission to make veganism accessible to communities in need throughout the D.C. area- and we welcome you to join us! Through our service, we hope to break down the barriers that may be preventing the members of our community from enjoying the many benefits of a plant-based lifestyle. Learn more about the work that we do and how you can help out below!
With the goal of making veganism accessible to all, our services are completely free of charge. As we work to establish our roots throughout New England, we are actively working to increase the amount of services that we can offer to the members of our community!
Meet the Team!
Behind all of the community outreach efforts is a dedicated team of volunteers who donate their time and energy to making everything a reality- learn a bit about them below!
Namita has been vegan for 6 years, and is a recently graduate from the University of Georgia (UGA) with a bachelors degree in Ecology, and a certificate in sustainability. During her time at UGA, she led the student animal rights organization, Speak Out for Species, and spent the majority of her time volunteering at local animal sanctuaries that cared for animals farmed for food, clothing, and fashion. The close relationships that she built with nonhuman animals inspires her to be an advocate for humans to live more compassionately, and less wastefully. Namita is passionate about the interconnections between all forms of oppression against both human and nonhuman animals, and tries hard to adapt a consistent anti-oppression framework to all of her activism. Nam currently works as a research assistant at the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine.
