Summer Starters!

June has been a month of many beginnings for Chilis on Wheels! This is our busy season, if you’ve ever wanted to volunteer but haven’t taken the plunge, now is the time!

In NYC, we welcomed Carla Tejada to our team, as Volunteer Coordinator! She is an amazing human, already a Chilis on Wheels supporter, and she is helping us sort out, recruit, organize, and be in communication with volunteers! Get in touch with her to start helping us dish out compassion!

NYC, also had it’s first Clothing Drive of the Summer. Remember we hold these, the first weekend of every odd month. It was a success! We had a LARGE donation, and we also had LARGE crowds of folks in the community come and grab some! We are so grateful to everyone that helps us put this together!

Boston had its details made official, as they are now starting a chapter! Their first distribution will take place on Sunday, July 30th. Get in touch with them if you’d like to volunteer!

First meeting of the Boston Chapter Organizers, Jae and Chelsea with founders Michelle and Ollie on TheVTeamTour!

Philly did its first tabling at the Philly Vegan POP Flea! They are gathering volunteers for their first distribution later this month! Get in touch!

San Diego will be rebooting this summer! Check them out and get involved! It’s about to get real!

Head Quarters welcomed Andrew Ensenat and Kris Valentin to our Social Media Team! Thank you for giving us your time! You are sure to make us poppin’!

Head Quarters also had their first All Chapters Virtual Meeting! We hope to hold these twice a month to spark a sense of community among organizers, and to hold space for each other to grow, share ideas, complaints, and help each other become pillars in our communities around free vegan food! It was a success! We exchanged ideas and left the meeting energized and ready to continue building! Thank you to everyone that made it a success!

We had a busy beginning of the month tabling and speaking at National Animal Rights Day, speaking at the Nuyorincan Poets Cafe, and the week after, at Vegan Street Fair! All events were successful and really highlights that veganism is on the rise!

TheVTeamTour will be stopping in Boston again on July 16th for a speaking engagement at the Boston Vegetarian Society. Heading on to Albany on July 21st for chapter building, and to Alexandria VA to be participate in two panels in the Animal Rights National Conference!

As always, your donations go straight to program expenses. Please consider gifting us the ability to continue our work and unite people in our communities! And if you haven’t already, consider ordering a copy of the The Baby and Toddler Vegan Feeding Guide by Julia Feliz Brueck, a portion of the proceeds benefits Chilis on Wheels! Remember to choose Chilis on Wheels on your Amazon Smile account, for an extra donation every time you shop!

We are so grateful for everyone rallying around us as we continue to build community and dish out compassion! Thank you for your support! We couldn’t do it without you!

Anthony volunteered his time and helped spread the word about CoW and veganism at NARD!

Ollie speaks about veganism at The Nuyorican Poets Cafe.

Michelle tells a story from TheVTeamTour about always speaking up for the animals.

Thank you to everyone that visited our Chilis on Wheels table at the Vegan Street Fair! And thank you Jessica Shay for all your work and kindness towards us!
